2016 Bell Ringer Awards

Last week, LPP along with many in the communications and public relations fields in New England, poured into Boston’s House of Blues to celebrate the success of a number of campaigns, activities and individuals for the Publicity Club of New England’s Annual Bell Ringer Awards.

The Awards, also fondly known as ‘The Bells,’ “recognize excellence in communications and public relations work in every field and industry, across all forms of media.” They are “the event” for all of us communications professionals and it’s great to see recognition for such outstanding work for many agencies and pros.

LPP was honored to be among the more than 110 winners for the night. Taking home Silver for the AirStrip/Apple Event Healthcare Launch Campaign (the highest award in that category) and Gold for LEGO Education’s WeDo 2.0 High Tech Launch Campaign which also was a Platinum Super Bell Finalist. Additionally, our newest LPPer, Megan Doherty, received honorable mention for the William M. Cavanaugh Student Grant!

As Karyn Martin, president of the Publicity Club of New England noted in a press release for the 2015-2016 awards event, “Judges had a tough job with competition being fierce to vie for winning awards for the best marketing and communication campaigns in the region.”

LPP’s own Executive Vice President Christine Simeone, an awards banquet attendee and long-time judge, confirmed that along with the increase in submissions came more intense competition. “Each year I look forward to seeing the best of what my industry colleagues have to offer. Once again, the bar for creativity, strategy and smart execution was raised, and the amazing impact PR can make when done well was reaffirmed.”

The ceremony at House of Blues was really well attended and as with each year’s Awards event, the “Best of the Best” rose to the top. A huge congratulations to all the award winners, judges, attendees, Publicity Club board members, sponsors and emcee WCVB-TV newscaster Frank Holland for continuing to make the event a must attend!
