We’ve all been there. The adapter for your laptop to connect to the projector isn’t the right one. The file you thought you had saved disappeared. You can’t access the VPN when you need to find a document you have to have, right now. The email you spent thirty minutes writing is suddenly gone when your laptop crashes. You can’t connect to the Internet when you need to run the WebEx. Through all of this, and much much more, chances are your System Administrator (SysAdmin) has been the one to talk you off the ledge, and likely been the one to solve your problem.
That’s why today is so important. For the 17th year in a row, today, the last Friday in July marks one of the most important days in technology, System Administrator Appreciation Day! And there are many ways to celebrate. Just take a few of the recommendations from the site dedicated to this special day. “Proper observation of SysAdmin Day includes (but is not limited to):
- Cake & Ice cream
- Words of gratitude
- Custom t-shirts celebrating the epic greatness of your SysAdmin(s)
So while you’re waiting for your document to print, and the toner is up and running and paper flows jam free, or you’re thankful that your network files are available to you while you work from home, take a minute to do what’s important today, and at least thank your SysAdmin or IT team.
And that goes to you Crystal! Thank you for all you do for us at LPP! We couldn’t imagine a day without you! Enjoy this day, you deserve it.
