LPP awarded at the European Economic Congress

LPP awarded at the European Economic Congress

LPP received two awards at the 15th European Economic Congress in Katowice. The editors of Rzeczpospolita awarded the Gdańsk-based company the ESG Eagle title for its activity and consistency in implementing the principles of sustainable development. In turn, Grupa PTWP recognised the effectiveness of LPP’s foreign investments in the Investors without Borders competition.

Organised by Grupa PTWP, publisher of the WNP.PL economic portal and Nowy Przemysł magazine, the annual Investors without Borders competition promotes exemplary relations between the investor, the market, and the administration. The jury selects the best investors in Poland and domestic companies operating on foreign markets. Nominations for the award are submitted by a wide range of experts from the business community, institutions of economic self-government, agencies and government entities involved in attracting investors and supporting Polish economic expansion abroad. A total of nine statuettes were awarded, five to Polish and four to foreign companies.

LPP received the award for its bold and effective foreign expansion strategy. The jury appreciated the company’s resilience in the face of global crises, emphasising the appropriate nature of changes in doing business in Eastern Europe and its consistent growth in the west and south of the continent, including the opening of its first new stores in Greece and Italy, as well as the development of its online sales network in Serbia, Greece, Spain, and Italy.

It’s been now 20 years since Reserved – LPP’s  flagship brand – took its first steps abroad. Today, all of our brands are winning recognition of clients all over the world, and we are still looking for development opportunities, because we want the world to hear about Polish creativity. We are glad that our strategy and vision of investing has been appreciated, especially in the face of the current economic situation, where flexibility and the ability to instantly adapt to the changing market situation are increasingly important – emphasizes Mikołaj Wezdecki, digitalisation director LPP, who received the award on behalf of the company.

At the European Economic Congress, for the first time, the editorial team of Rzeczpospolita awarded ESG Eagles to companies actively and consistently implementing sustainable development principles. The selection of the winners was a two-stage process. In the first phase, journalists analysed measures contained in ESG reports and data from companies’ financial reports. Consideration was given to climate issues (with a focus on the carbon footprint of operations and CO2 equivalent emissions to revenues), wage non-discrimination, fair pay, employee safety, respect for consumer rights and the free market, taxation and corporate philanthropy. This resulted in a list of nominees, from which the winners were selected by a seven-member jury composed of experts, business representatives and the editorial team of Rzeczpospolita. During the gala, four distinctions and six main prizes were awarded.

The justification for the award to LPP emphasised its skilful overcoming of crisis situations, as well as technological, logistical, and sales transformation. The omnichannel sales strategy, the eco-friendly solutions introduced by the company and the fact that production is carried out in Bangladesh and Pakistan in accordance with ZDHC safety standards were highly appreciated. The jury also recognised the work of the LPP Foundation, which helps disadvantaged people and socially excluded youth.

In difficult times of huge volatility, one thing does not change at LPP – the determination to implement all activities related to ESG strategy. We have been consistently implementing our plans in this area for the last few years and we will continue to do so – emphasized Piotr Mitraszewski, the LPP Management Board representative, during the gala.
