LPP helped China now China reciprocates the help in fighting against the coronavirus

• Solidarity in the fight against the coronavirus is of utmost importance. LPP was the first to help others. Thanks to this, today others are helping Poland.

• We are fighting for several hundred thousand jobs in the trade and services sector together with over 100 Polish companies forming the Polish Trade and Services Employers’ Association.

Due to the growing epidemiological threat in the country, LPP has taken further actions to support both the Polish authorities and hospitals currently requiring such help in the face of combating the effects of the coronavirus epidemic. The actions have been carried out with the support of its Chinese partners, who in January this year received help from LPP in the form of protective masks sent to the most affected areas in China. Already today the company has received more equipment than it sent to China in January.

False information and a wave of hatred directed at our company, which we have been dealing with in recent days, will not discourage us from acting. Along with other companies operating in the sector we are fighting to maintain several hundred thousand jobs. Not everyone likes it. At the same time, we have provided continued support to the Polish health service. Meanwhile, life shows that karma comes back around. In January, we helped people in China by sending them protective masks, now they are reciprocating our gesture of good will and help us bring the masks to Poland, which we further transfer to our Polish hospitals – explains Marek Piechocki, CEO of LPP. Despite the financial difficulties we are now facing, we have bought masks for more than PLN 1 million, which is twice the quantity we sent to China in January. Further batches of deliveries have been delivered to infectious diseases hospitals in Poland since last week, he adds.

Another priority action in which the company is currently involved is to support the Chancellery of the Prime Minister in reaching out to partners in China in order to deliver the most needed protective measures, i.e. masks, disinfectants, overalls or thermometers, in the shortest possible time. Owing to several years of cooperation and relations established with key Chinese manufacturers, LPP has been actively supporting the Polish government in the process of purchasing and transporting products to Poland. Many of the Chinese companies, which at the beginning of the year received help from LPP, as well as from other European companies and institutions, are now supporting Poland in the purchase of medical products on their own initiative.

As a reminder, apart from the purchase of masks for Polish hospitals, LPP is currently sewing cotton masks for non-medical staff of hospitals in Pomerania and Małopolska. Moreover, the company will hand over dozens of computers to children’s homes, so that young people could continue their education remotely. In addition, the Pomeranian company will donate 10% of the proceeds from sale of its latest Joyful #Eco Aware collection by its flagship brand – Reserved – to help isolation hospitals in Gdańsk and Kraków.

We have always helped and will continue to help those who need it. We are a Polish company and it is here that we have our roots. We cannot remain indifferent to what is happening in our country and region. We are fighting in spite of the hate with which we are struggling, because we believe that help in the spirit of solidarity is most important now – comments Marek Piechocki.

Due to the libel and false information published by the editorial office of Newsweek.pl, the Management Board of LPP decided to take legal steps against the publisher of the weekly, the author of the article and the editor-in-chief.
