The finalists of the first edition of an international competition Responsible Fashion Awards have been announced!

14 November 2019 saw the announcement of the winners of ‘Responsible Fashion Awards’ – the first competition organised by MSKPU (International School of Costume and Fashion Design) in partnership with LPP. The competition seeks to promote the idea of fashion design in the spirit of sustainable development.

The Responsible Fashion Awards competition was open to both professional designers with experience and proper education, as well as enthusiasts not professionally connected with the fashion and design industry. The organisers received over 100 inspiring applications.

The semi-finals conference was held on 14 November at the Fryderyk Chopin Institute and 10 distinguished participants were awarded diplomas. The winner in the Professional category — Marta Janikowska, and in the Passionate category — Wiktoria Frankowska, were given the opportunity to present one finished model of their respective collections during the official conference.

— It was not an easy task for us jury. The difficulty stemmed from the high level of all the competition application — regardless of the participants’ experience each work was ambitious, conscious and creative. We all consider the ideas for the whole collections truly inspiring. The quality of the competition applications only confirms how many talents are yet to be discovered in the Polish creative industry. – says Anna Miazga, Sustainable Development Expert, LPP.

Both winners will receive further materials to sew the whole collections in order to present them during the MSKPU Diploma Show in March 2020. All materials used in the competition are provided by LPP. The finalists received, among others, cash prizes, participation in a course on responsible and sustainable fashion and a one-year scholarship to study at the MSKPU.

Presentations of the semi-final models are available on the MSKPU’s fanpage. The pieces of the semi-finalists may be viewed by clicking on this link:
