Welcome home
The ‘Welcome Home - Welcome to Work’ project is an initiative of the Welcome Home Association, which was created out of a need to support young people in building their agency and self-esteem.
The LPP Foundation supports the ‘Welcome Home’ project by financing, among other things, so-called ‘stops’ for young people.
Stops are events during which young people participate in dedicated workshops and discussions about emotions and what is most important to them in life
A very important part of the Welcome Home mission is caring for the mental health of young people through art, education and preventive measures.

Why are we doing this?
Mental health crises among children and young people are a challenge we are facing more and more often.
That is why at the LPP Foundation, we are committed to supporting events for young people, where they have the opportunity to discover their talents and passions in an open and friendly environment.
At the same time, strengthening the motivation of teachers, animators and parents is a very important aspect of the project.

Welcome home – how does it work?
The project aims to develop passions, engage with art and acquire new skills in a safe environment, with the support of psychologists and coaches.
The role of adults is to supervise the project and inspire, without imposing solutions, and to provide space for both experimentation and learning from failures in safe conditions.

Who is leading the project?
The ‘Welcome home’ Association, together with its partners, coaches and mentors, organises meetings with young people in the form of workshop groups, ranging from theatre, vocal and hip hop classes to popping and DJing workshops.
During this year's stops, recruitment was also conducted for 15 workshop groups responsible for preparing the grand finale at the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre.

During 15 thematic workshops, for which 154 young people qualified, the role of adults – carefully selected trainers – was limited to providing inspiration, support and substantive assistance.
The young people actively participated in the classes, acquiring new skills. They also laid the foundations for a performance that summarised their skills and the entire event.

Welcome home – project results
This year's recruitment for ‘Welcome Home – Welcome to Work’ was a huge success. Ultimately, over 150 people qualified for the project and participated in workshop groups in 15 different fields (including dance, photography, graffiti, DJing, and printing).
The workshops were held under the slogan ‘Beat or not to be’. It was an artistic collage with elements of a musical, directed by a workshop group specialising in acting/directing. The performance showcased everything the young people had learned during the workshops. The idea for the title came naturally – in reference to the venue where this year's final was held, namely the
For the young people, participating in the performance was a unique opportunity to become part of an artistic project and perform on a professional stage.

To date, the LPP Foundation has supported the organisation of four ‘Welcome Home’ events – stopovers for young people: twice in Gdańsk, and once each in Brześć Kujawski and Pruszcz Gdański.
The culmination of the project in 2025 took place on 12 June.On that day, a performance was held at the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre.
