Digital Hygiene and the Impact of Technology on Children to Be Discussed at the 5th Congress of Digitally Responsible Schools

The 5th Congress of Digitally Responsible Schools will take place on November 16–17, 2026, at the Mercure Gdynia Centrum Hotel. The Dbam o Mój Zasięg Foundation is organizing the event for the fifth time. As one of the most important forums for debate on the mental health of children and young people, the congress will bring together teachers, school principals, psychologists, experts, researchers, and representatives of the education community. The LPP Foundation is the Strategic Partner of the congress.
Relationships and Digital Hygiene at the Heart of the Congress
This year’s edition will be held under the theme “Create CLOSENESS!”, highlighting the importance of relationships, presence, and empathy in a world increasingly shaped by new technologies and artificial intelligence. The congress programme will cover issues related to the mental health of children and young people, social relationships, digital well-being, digital hygiene, and the impact of technology on children and education.
The congress will provide a platform for exchanging knowledge, experiences, and best practices in supporting children and young people in the digital world. The programme will include presentations by experts, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of the education community. The results of a nationwide study entitled “Relationships in the Age of AI: A Nationwide Assessment of Social Bonds, Well-Being and Digital Stress” will also be presented during the event.
Tomasz Rożek on Relationships Instead of Digital Dopamine
At the invitation of the LPP Foundation, Tomasz Rożek will be a special guest at the congress. He holds a PhD in physics and is a science communicator, author of books, television and radio programmes, and creator of the “Nauka. To Lubię” channel. During the event, he will deliver a lecture entitled “The Power of Relationships Instead of Digital Dopamine: How Science and Closeness Help Children Escape the Digital Trap”.
In his presentation, he will discuss how algorithms and digital media affect the reward systems of children and young people, reinforcing the need to constantly seek quick stimulation. He will also emphasize that banning smartphone use should not be the only response to digital overstimulation.
Drawing on findings from neuroscience and experience gained through educational projects run by the Nauka. To Lubię Foundation, Tomasz Rożek will highlight the importance of relationships, exploring the world together, and stimulating curiosity in the development of young people. The presentation aims to provide teachers and school principals with practical inspiration for creating an educational environment based on cooperation, engagement, and face-to-face relationships.
Tomasz Rożek’s Film “Caught in the Digital Trap” on the Impact of New Technologies
The LPP Foundation is also supporting the production of the educational film “Caught in the Digital Trap”, created by Tomasz Rożek. The film addresses the impact of new technologies and social media on young people and contributes to the discussion on digital well-being.
Both the film and the presentation at the congress focus on the challenges arising from the presence of technology in the lives of children and young people. They also highlight the role of relationships, curiosity, and exploring the world together as alternatives to digital overstimulation.
The “Digital Balance” Programme and 100 Digital Hygiene Workshops
The partnership at the congress represents a further development of the cooperation between the LPP Foundation and the Dbam o Mój Zasięg Foundation. Together, the organizations are implementing the “Digital Balance” programme, which supports children and young people in developing healthy digital habits, looking after their mental well-being, and maintaining a balance between the online and offline worlds.
Since September 2026, a series of 100 digital hygiene workshops has been continuing in primary schools across the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The strategic partnership of the congress, the “Digital Balance” programme, the participation of Dr Tomasz Rożek, and support for the film “Caught in the Digital Trap” are all part of the LPP Foundation’s activities focused on digital education, the well-being of young people, and the responsible use of technology.
