Where fashion meets culture – LPP backs the arts across the Tri-City

Exhibitions, film festivals and open-air concerts have become an important part of summer in Pomerania. For several years now, the LPP Group has been among the partners supporting the region’s cultural initiatives. Working closely with local institutions and event organisers, the company is developing its patronage of film, music and the visual arts, creating opportunities for residents and visitors alike to engage with a diverse programme of artistic events. This summer’s programme has already featured open-air concerts, art exhibitions and a film festival, with one of the season’s most important music events still ahead.
Supporting culture is a natural extension of LPP’s commitment to responsible social engagement and an investment in the development of Pomerania, the region from which the company originates. A keen sensitivity to aesthetics and form, coupled with a desire to explore diverse modes of expression, has long been integral to LPP’s identity. What takes shape through fashion and design in the company’s daily work has found its social counterpart in LPP’s patronage of the arts. This is why, alongside its social and educational initiatives, the company also supports projects that contribute to the region’s cultural offering.
The Gdańsk-based company’s involvement ranges from partnerships with cultural institutions to support for events of both local and international significance. This year’s projects build on initiatives developed by the Group. These have included support for the exhibition ‘Fashion of the Romantic Era: Travel and Spa Attire (1820–1850)’ at the Sopot Museum, as well as support for an exhibition of works by Andrzej Umiastowski, a distinguished artist with close ties to Pomerania, presented by the State Gallery of Art in Sopot.
– ‘Culture inspires, fosters connections and brings people together across generations and backgrounds. As a company with its roots in the creative sector, we have a sensitivity to art that is part of our DNA, and our support for initiatives in Pomerania is a natural consequence of that. I believe this is not only an investment in the development of the region where we live and work but also an expression of our responsibility to create an open and accessible space for everyone’, – says Marek Piechocki, President of the Management Board of LPP.
This summer’s programme in Pomerania showcases the variety of projects supported by the Group. One of these was the recently concluded 26th edition of the Sopot Film Festival, a key event in the summer film calendar. During the festival’s more than ten-day run, audiences could enjoy over 100 films from across the globe, while also taking part in meetings with renowned filmmakers, open-air screenings, film music concerts and workshops for young people.
At the same time, summer in the Tri-City is shaped by long-established music events. Every Sunday until the end of August, Sopot’s Park Północny welcomes music lovers to the Summer Concerts on the Grass, organised in cooperation with the City of Sopot and the Sopot Museum under the patronage of LPP.
In mid-August, the Tri-City will host the 21st International Mozart Festival Mozartiana, bringing the distinctive energy of Mozart’s music to the historic settings of Gdańsk’s Artus Court, Oliwa Park and Oliwa Archcathedral. This year’s festival, held under the patronage of the LPP Foundation, will run from 16 to 22 August. The programme of Poland’s only festival dedicated to Mozart will comprise 12 concerts featuring around 200 artists from Poland and abroad and a broad spectrum of musical genres, from chamber and symphonic music to opera, jazz and folk.
– ‘For many years, the LPP Foundation has been involved in a broad range of initiatives, from promoting equal opportunities, through supporting children’s and young people’s mental health and the healthcare system, to implementing cultural projects. Our support for summer concerts, exhibitions and prestigious music festivals reflects our belief in culture’s power to unite people, enrich everyday life and create opportunities to spend time together. We believe that broad access to culture helps foster active communities, so we are delighted to work with organisers to develop projects that matter so much to the residents of Pomerania’, says Patrycja Zbytniewska, President of the Management Board of the LPP Foundation.
By continuing to develop its partnerships with event organisers, the LPP Group supports initiatives that cater to a wide range of interests, from the visual arts and cinema to classical music and open-air events. This reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the region and to fostering a sense of community that brings people together, inspires people and encourages active participation in cultural life.
